Hinweis: _nomap muss in jedem Fall am Ende stehen.

Google has recently started automatically importing information from Google+ profiles into the contacts app on android (Google Contacts) based searching for accounts tied to that phone number. This information is comprehensive and can't be deleted by the user.
If you have an old Google+ profile laying around from pre-transition, then any old emails etc. containing your dead name might have been imported into the contacts of everyone who has your phone number for any reason
#howto use the #fediverse with nearly no internet connection with #AndStatus:
Choose in the settings:
- to not fetch images
- to not fetch avatars
- increase the time of sync
Now next time you got internet connection, even if shitty as ~1kbs you can let AndStatus sync.
Also no problem if internet connection is just accessible for some minutes.
Messages get stored offline. You can read, fav., boost, and reply to them any given time. Once you've got internet again even you're replies will be sync.
The worst thing about being queer is that all my friends are queer.
And so none of them are getting married (I know, I'm against marriage), but I really want to be a bridesmaid?
Does anyone need someone they don't know to pose as your bff4ever for a wedding you don't have enough femme friends for?

There are so many good posts out there that I would *LOVE* to boost, but unfortunately they don't have CWs on them, please could people use CWs more often please, then I could feel happy knowing that y'all respect people's triggers and dislike of certain subjects and I get to boost your toots :)

I've got the feeling that image descriptions make the fediverse better on more than one level. Not only because of the obvious fact that it enables a larger set of people to get a more thorough understanding of a post — but also that you only tend to post those pictures that are worthy investing the time to write an image description for.
politics of transitioning Show more
one of the reasons i tend to dislike being told i was always trans is that some folx are never going to transition unless they know that transitioning is a life choice they get to make.
like, it was true for me. it'll be true for someone else.
what grinds my gears is that sometimes when I bring up this line of argument, i'm told the political atmosphere isn't ripe for it.
folx need to know this so they can transition and experience happiness, soon rather than never.

I do as much of my browsing as i can in elinks which makes it possible to get along with less RAM. There are still plenty of very poorly designed sites that just won't render correctly or at all. I just switch over briefly to a graphical browser. It is slightly inconvenient but it is possible to live happily with 2GB or even 1GB this way.
